Campaigning in northern Michigan, where many employers have struggled to fill jobs in hotels and restaurants during the summer tourist rush, Romney said more temporary workers should be allowed where there are labor shortages.

"The answer to that is simple, which is issue more visas," Romney told reporters. "If our employment sector needs additional immigrant laborers, then issue the visas necessary to provide that work force."

WHY is this a "simple" solution?

How about the solution that these rich in Northren Michigan PAY MORE! They will have NO PROBLEM getting unemployed Michigan people to work!

I know the routine well, I spend tons of time up there, the locals have a saying up there "half the pay for a view of the bay". Wages have always been low up there, and about 10 years ago they started importing workers for the Hospital in Petoskey and then more for the massive Bay Harbor development. About 5 years ago the nurses at the hospital in Petoskey went on strike, the hospital locked them out, refused to negotiate and brought in replacement nurses most of whom were "imports" from the Philippines, Jamaica, etc. All of the nurses lost their jobs and it became the longest nursing strike in the history of the U.S. If they want quality workers for the businesses that are financially raping the tourists (locally known as "fudgies") then they should indeed pay more, we both know they can afford it. Romney is a duplicitous ******, purely a talking head, albeit muffled due to it being lodged in his butt. I would have moved up there years ago had it not been for the very low pay scale, it is where my family homesteaded and I'd love to return there, I hope Romney finds other fields to spread his fertilizer in!

What is it that makes you think these people in Northern Michigan are rich? Just because you own a hotel or a restaurant does not make you a rich person. But I will agree that most of these jobs don't pay worth a darn.

Romney is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations...which want the US to become part of the North American Union, which want totally open borders and the creation of the New World Order. Think I am a conspiracy theorist? Look at the proof of what is happening through out the world. The EU has been created and they are waiting to ratify their Constitution. There is the Asian Union in the works as we speak. They are also intent on creating the North American Union between Canada and USA and Mexico...complete with their own Parliament which will be over our Supreme Court.

This is EXACTLY the reason why I support Ron Paul. He is the only one who wants to stop it and preserve the US.

Citizens must be given priority in the employment opportunities. Giving visas to ambulant workers will entice illegal immigration. Mitt Romney was claimed to be erroneous on his comment to give visas to illegals on this work related issue.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know if Romney will likely win.

I think the more apt question is why does Michigan have, at 7.4%, a considerably higher unemployment rate than the rest of the country? It's a full 1% higher than the next state down. Why is this?

Because he is a politician.

Get over yourself. Your guy lies too. He just works at a level of corruption that is within your comfort zone.

I can admit it. Sen. Charles Grassley could plow his car right through my front window, drunk off his ***, with 2 dead hookers in his trunk, and the only thing I would ask him would be "Would you like me to take care of those dead hookers for you, Senator?"

I can admit that. Why can't you?
