Hey, today i recently did a complete system restoration on my computer. Now after i download something & try to install it, the installation window closes by itself. This happens with everything..so i know it's not a bad file. I'm using Windows XP Home Edition. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Oh yea, i also deleted a lot of software that was originally installed onto my computer after restoration, so i'm thinking it may have been something i uninstalled? But i'm not sure....

You may have deleted some parts of Win XP. You could opt for the built-in self repair feature in XP that should leave ALL your files INTACT. Just follow the instructions here:

During uninstallation of certain programs, it could have also removed some shared system files.

Have you updated it to service pack 2 and done the other patches?

do a memory check to make sure the RAM is okay:

hmm... Did you mess with your pc in any way? if so, attempt doing a equipment restoration. different than that, i think of your installation guard Wizard ought to be reinstalled... or possibly set up data you attempt to run are corrupted? or you haven't any longer have been given administrator privileges. Or turn off your firewall/ anti virus and then attempt it. those are some thoughts, i can't help plenty different than that, sorry.
