Like you could have really loved a band if it wasn't for the lead singer cause he/she annoyed the heck out of you?
For me, David Lee Roth just ruined Van Halen for me and Axl Rose ruined GN'R for me.
You?

Cinnamon Grrrl: I love Rush, even if I'm not crazy about Geddy Lee's voice, but he's essential to the band, he's an amazing keyboardist and bassist.

Yes, the lead singer of Rush.
I've just always hated his voice.
The musicians are so talented, it's really a shame..
Very Late Edit: Oh, don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking his abilities when it comes to playing his instruments, and i agree he does play a vital role, but that voice...
grrr.

RE: How do you sense about Adam Gontier, lead singer of three Days Grace, leaving the band? 3 Days Grace presented on their professional facebook that Adam has resigned with the aid of a "non existence threatening health undertaking" and would get replaced (for the excursion a minimum of) by technique of My Darkest Days' Matt Walst. in my opinion, this ruined my day... no that is elementary to replace Adam's voice, even regardless of the truth that...

Yeah, Rush--the first group that came to mind with a laugh (sorry, but you brought the subject up). Also Steve Perry of Journey. I do agree with you about David Lee Roth--but I like Axl.

Interesting. Yes, sometimes I find a band where the lead singers' voice either; 1. Doesn't match the sound of the band. 2. Is just plain annoying. or 3. Wow, this person got a record deal for this?!?!?!?!I could do better, and I don't sing!

This probably won't be a popular answer but Pantera could've done a lot better with somebody besides Phil Anselmo. I never did like his voice.
Joe Lynn Turner ruined Rainbow for me. Not that the guy can't sing, it's just he had to follow Ronnie James Dio, then Graham Bonnet (hey, I liked Bonnet, okay?). And he sings mostly {shudder} ballads and love songs.

AFI's Davey Havok. The rest of the band are pretty good musicians, but his voice really gets on my nerves. He sings really bad live. Not to mention he excessively borrows aesthetics of other great singers and ruins them.

I found Axl Rose spoilt Guns and Roses for me, and I always found Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden didn't have the range.

i agree with you on Van Halen- never liked Roth either.
As for Axl i do like him- great voice- crappy rockstar attitude, that's all. I miss GnR back in their good ol' days!
Also I like Smashing Pumpkins' music but i'm really annoyed by Corgan's occassional arrogance, he really thinks he's mr. smartypants sometimes. haunting voice though. :)
