Physically, one of the first things you'll notice is that your sense of smell is becoming much more in gear. So will your sense of taste. After a time, breathing problems will begin clear and you'll be able to get more air into your lungs, refreshing and renovating your energy levels. The drawback is the physical effects of narcotic withdrawal, which may manifest as sensitivity to touch and sounds, nervousness and anxiety. Mentally, you'll be dealing with the craving for the narcotic effects of smoking and the habits of smoking. You may feel as if you're missing a familiar routine, which may become distressing if you don't find some distractions.
Quitting isn't easy, because you're breaking a physical and mental addiction.
But it is worth it, for you, and those who care about you.

It was a gradual build up, but I started getting out of breath less often, my chest didn't feel tight like it always did, and I could taste more.
On the down side for the seven years since I quit smoking, I wanted a smoke EVERY single day. But since I wasn't around it much at all it wasn't a big problem. However, my wife and I made new friends and they are smokers. We started hanging out at their house a lot, and I was around it much more. I am now smoking again. The will power was just eaten away little by little.

it's very, very difficult the first couple weeks, but after you'll start to be able to do more physically and you'll save $5 a day which helped me mentally cuz I had more money for the stuff I really needed. I did put on a little weight when I first quit cuz I was replacing cigarettes with food, but staying active will help you to lose the extra pounds. it's been 4 years and I've never felt better! :-)
