No, each of them are separate from the other. Although there may be and I repeat may be similarities in some of the Degree or Ritual work. Have belonged to several different Fraternal Organizations and there have been a similar theme through several of them.

No. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is not a masonic body. It was founded in 1868 in the USA.

To another point - the Shriners are one of several appendant bodies of Freemasonry; not all Freemasons are Shriners but all Shriners are Freemasons.

The Masons and the Elks are both very old lodge societies. They are different, just like the Shriners, Lions and several others. Both do civic works, business contact building, friendship and other activities.
