Since other people felt the need to bring this up, I need to correct them, this board will NOT support SLI. You need more than just two PCI-E slots for SLI, you need an nVidia chipset, which this does not have.

That does not mean the board is no good, SLI is really only good if you have a ton of money to spend. I would suggest a different brand though, ASUS or Gigabyte are better quality. But other than that, this board will be fine for gaming.

Well the specs on this board definately seem up to scratch, supporting all of the new quad core processors and it will be able to handle sli. Also it has space for up to 8gb of ram. So with the quad core support, sli support and that much ram support then yes it is a very good board for gaming. But unless you do plan to double your spend on SLI then its not really necessary, all boards around 6months old and around the £300+ mark can handle the same. But please please dont buy from ECS, get the best, go with asus.

Take a look at this one the Asus Striker Extreme, This really is one of the top 5 gaming motherboards.

Hope this helped, Kieran

It really depends. that is a good board for SLI and has the corect chipset. The bigest factor though wil be your video card. If you are not planning on SLI then I would not bother with getting 2 PCI-E slots.

Also I am not a big fan of ECS. I would recomend DFI or ASUS.
