Today is my homecoming. There's this girl I was going to ask about three weeks ago to go with me, but another guy I knew pretty well was going to ask her, and she found out. And she did not want to go with him because she doesn't really talk to him that much.

At that time, I only talked to her a little more than that guy did, so I decided to not ask her yet and just become better friends, which worked. We've been talking a lot more now and have become better friends. I was just going to dance with her at Homecoming (since asking her a week before seems tacky).

But then I found out two days ago that she has a Homecoming date that she does not want to go with at all.

I guess a week or two ago, she and some other people were at this girl's house. It was 30 minutes until she had to be home, and she was about 30 away from home, so she had to hurry.

But this gay emo kid parked behind her, and wouldn't let her out unless she went to Homecoming with him.

Since she was in a hurry, she said yes so she could be home on time.

But she does not want to go with him at all. She even thought about skipping Homecoming so she wouldn’t have to go with him. There’s even a big rumor he’s going to ask her out (and she said she will definitely say NO to him).

So can I still dance with her at the dance?

Keep in mind her date is someone she really doesn’t like, a gay emo kid, and tries to make fun of the football team. As a varsity football player, our whole team hates him (with the exception of like 2 people).

If a girl goes with a date, it doesn't mean that she's limited to him. And since the guy isn't really her type, you can DEFINITELY dance with her. I have a boyfriend who was my date, and I danced with other guys at my homecoming dance. It's not weird at all, and totally acceptable. Try to be nice though. Don't bash the emo kid's face in and steal her away... because that would just look like some jealous fight.

Well, if your homecoming is anything like ours, you can hardly see anything and everyone is all crowded together. When people go with dates, they dont have to be around them the WHOLE time and only dance with them. Especially since she doesnt even like the kid, you should dance with her. She would probably be really happy dancing with you instead of some gay emo. lol

The only thing that should determine your decision is HER opinion. At Homecoming, just ask her to dance. If she likes you enough, she'll say yes and the two of you shall dance together. If she'd rather not, then she'd say no.

Nevermind that gay emo kid! His opinion's not important unless SHE thinks it's important! If he is a gentlemen, he'll respect her wishes no matter what. And if not, then he's a jerk whose opinion doesn't matter at all.

There you go. Complication simplified.

NO! I'm sorry but if you've ever been to homecoming with a date you have committed to that person and that person only. That's why I'd suggest going to homecomming just with a group of friends, but whatever. If you both really want to you could!

A proper way to do it, is to ask her date if it is ok for you to dance with her first, then dance with her.

It doesn't matter who this kid is, or he is not well liked. (or even the fact she didn't want to go with him in the first place) It has to do with you being polite and considerate for your friend. (her)

I'm sure she doesn't want to see a fight break out for her. A weird situation, but swallow your pride and do it the right way. She'll respect you for it.

As long as the girl wants to dance with you then its fine. At dances the girls usually ditch their dates to hang with their friends. So if you see her with her friends, let her know you want to dance with her.

She promised to go to the dance with him. but she probably didn't promise that she would spent the whole night with him. so go for it.
