i have to do a report on how newton's laws apply with gravity and i have a good idea but i dont have enough to write a repot on it... Any Help?

Beyond the obvious -- when you hang from the rock, the force of your arm pulling on the rock exactly balances the force of gravity, and so you're not in motion (relative to the Earth at least). When you pull even harder with your arm, that force exceeds that of gravity, causing a net acceleration upward.

And if you carry a heavy pack and so have more mass, it takes yet more force than it otherwise would to create the same upward acceleration, since Force = Mass * Acceleration.

maybe if you let go you would fall , when you pull down your body will go up
