You slope by running and rising or running and falling.
When you drive up a hill and a highway sign says 6% grade what does that mean? Since percent means "out of 100"
the highway rises 6 feet vertically for every 100 feet is carries you horizontally.
Better yet, jump out of an airplane. You will continue to travel horizontally as you fall. You slope is drop/run, that is you vertical drop over you horizontal progress.
Or slide of of a shed roof with pitch 5 in 12. That roof drops 5 inches for every 12 inches of horizontal distance.
To really get dirty, try falling through a sewer. By code it must fall 1/4 inch for every foot of horizontal run in order to carry you off.
Slope = m = rise/run = vertical change/horizontal change.
In a coordinate system m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) which is just rise over run.
Inclination on the other hand is tan^-1(m). Slope plays an important role in all of mathematics and the sciences because the slope of a curve at a given point is just the functions rate of change at that point per unit change in the independent variable, that is, the derivative.
Get comfortable with slope on the slopes and calculus will be easy.

i'm guessing u mean "how do u find the slope?"
if u have an equation, rearrange it so it is in slope-y intercept form ( y = mx+b) -> the m term will tell u the slope
if u have a graph of a line, u can do rise (units going vertically) divided by run (units going horizontally)
to find the slope of a tangent, you can find the derivative of the equation of the curve...
there are sooo many ways to find slope...

slope refers to the rise over run of a straight line.
If you walk up a ramp that rises 10 feet over a horizontal distance of 100 feet, then the slope of the ramp is 10/100 = 1/10 or .1
