like can you tell without looking inside the car?

Look under it by the radiator,if you see some small fluid lines going into the back of the lower part of the radiator then it is an automatic.

pretty much ya can tell if your following the car because it will take of at diff speeds as the driver goes through the gears .....or you can crawl under and look at the side of the transmission but i think it would be easier to just look inside at that point

ok, while you're actually not a sixteen-20 year previous lady with some yippy little handbag canines, then WHAT THE HELL? while you're a sixteen-20 year previous lady, get a Rav4. as an issue of actuality, the reality which you asked this question first of all... Get a Rav4. that's Toyota, btw.

you can tell when its being drive on the street... there is a lond delay between shifting gears because it needs to be done by the driver.

not unless it says so on the outside or you look underneath it at the transmission
