My favorites are Singing in the Rain and An American in Paris. Gene Kelly was not in Holiday Inn. That was Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Wonderful movie, I watch it every Cristmas. I also watched Xanadu just to see Gene Kelly.

To me honey, he's everything as American dancer, actor, singer, director, producer, and choreographer. Kelly was a major exponent of 20th century filmed dance, known for his energetic and athletic dancing style, his good looks and the likeable characters that he played on screen. Although he is probably best known today for his performance in Singin' in the Rain, he dominated the Hollywood musical film from the mid 1940s until its demise in the late 1950s. In 1999, the American Film Institute named Kelly among the Greatest Male Stars of All Time, ranking at No. 15.
Cheers and have a nice week ahead :)

ALL of them?
Gene Kelly is/was a wonderful actor!
(AND he knew that the greatest of them all -as dancers- was Gene Nelson.) Kelly is a wonderful dramatic actor too... as well as one the world's Top 5 All-Time-Great modern-dancers/choreographers... in ANY order!
"BRIGADOON", I guess... because you also get Cyd Charisse. Now THERE!, folks, was a dancer! And a beautiful woman.
ALL of Kelly's musical films are wonderful! I am especially fond of "THREE SAILORS AND A GIRL".
Thank you, Moon! This was fun. }:>
I ACTUALLY sat through "Xanadu" for Gene Kelly! No mean sacrifice, lemme tell ya.

"What A Way to Go!" with Shirley MacClain or "Inherit the Wind" with Spencer Tracy.
If it has to be a musical, either "Anchors Away" or "Take Me Out To The Ball Park".
If he does not have to be in the movie "Hello Dolly" which he choreographed/
I guess it shows I like Gene Kelly.

Hi,
Brigadoon!
When the girls and I went on a holiday to Ayr a few summers ago, I noticed 'Brigadoon' on the map and we had to go there. It was a bridge (over the river Doon) seemingly made famous by a poem by Robert Burns.
Here's a picture of it:

A lovely film.
