Even the almighty dollar is falling.
In spite of all this your terrorist leader is trying to make a case for war with Iran.
Poor poor Americans.

I'm not saying I don't agree with you but the dollar is so low due to the stupid war and all of our debts.

Canada kicks it's own "a". Canada has been lucky to get off with such a pristine image due a great deal to the fact that it is the neighbor of big bad America. Do further study into Canadian history and you will see that it's hands are FAR from clean, they would be even dirtier if there was even the possibility of it ever being a super power but it can't be...just look at the geography of the place and the population - it would never have a chance in this day and age.

edit: Becca, what about all the LEGAL immigrants from 3rd world countries that are HEALTHIER than Americans? They tend to start to get diseases once they show up here and integrate into our lifestyle!

Because we are being taken advantage of. For some reason we are suppose to accept every ones ideals allow illegals from various countries come. It effects everything. People could afford health ins. if they didn't have to pay for those w/out. Taxes would be less and our children would get better educations and not be stuck in a class that is overcrowded. The immigrants are no longer doing the jobs Americans wouldn't do. they are now picking and choosing. we are paying all their bills and they send their money back home. so that money is not in the States to boost our economy. Keep in mind also that people from 3rd world countries are not healthy. Allot bring disease and live in dirty conditions. Even if the conditions were clean their background does not rise to an American standard. All of this is now calculated into our statistics.
Oh! Which country are we falling behind and yes we are proud of our country but I do not know about the arrogance radiating from our borders. Try to walk into any other country.

If we're such a lousy country, I don't understand how we're so much more successful than your country. It just doesn't add up. Neither does your obsession to insult Americans.
I'd love to know what benefit you get out of it 24/7 on YA.

What about the question brought all the Canadians in? She's already insulting our (Americans) very existence. Canadians are so bigoted that desipite Americans already being bashed from one side, they can't help but pile on?

I'm as serious as I can be, do you nonAmericans think this kind of bigoted, insulting behavior makes you the superior ones?

I don't know why America is falling behind in those areas. I don't know if I care. I'm tired of trying to justify the rationale behind what my elected officials do. They are all a bunch of spoiled babies, whining over insignificant things, while actual problems go unaddressed. There's little chance of that changing since most Americans care more about Britney Spears than their own representatives. So I just worry about myself and my family, and the rest of the country can go to hell.

Power comes and power goes. I'm happy living in Canada. I don't have anything against the United States; I think our countries hold some very important ideals.

Americans will one day have to force themselves to admit that they aren't the big super power on the block anymore. If China or India step up with the emergence of their gigantic economy in the next 10 years this is something that many Americans will have a very tough time accepting.

The USA will NOT always be the biggest superpower in my lifetime. I'm almost sure of it. As they lose control they will have to humble themselves and possibly even look at necessary alliances with European and Asian countries. They won't be able to do it all themselves as they once thought they could.

You've been misinformed. It shows. The area that we have fallen behind other civilized nations is education. Our public/government education system is among the worst of any developed nation. We rank in the lower fourth academically, but rank #1 in self esteem. It's a disgrace.

We're the wealthiest nation on earth because we are also the most Free nation on earth. The stats you cite may/may not be true.

You should steal an inter-tube from a government truck, tie it to a few boards, brave shark infested waters and come see for yourself. I know the communist country you're living in wouldn't allow you to do this... but give it a shot anyway.

It happens to all great civilizations. And depending on who you are the dollar falling is a good thing (if you are an exporter etc). The EURO is rising too fast for it's own good.

Not all Americans are arrogant.

It starts with education. The country that fails to invest in its future has none.

The others that are answering and still believe America leads the world need to take a trip. You are foolishly believing the propaganda.
