I think that he would make an outstanding president. Much better than any republican ever has been or ever will be and that includes Lincoln.
Oh, by the way, I am a NASCAR fan.

Do I have to be a certain colour to think about Obama? How racist of you.
However, I am white.. and I think he is great.. and I could easily support him.. no problem.. just have one teeny thing that bothers me and that is his stand on the illegal aliens BUT haven't heard any good news from any of the candidates on that issue.. so he may get my vote after all.

I'm not a big fan of Obama either, pretty much for the same reasons everyone else has listed. But I'd prefer him to anyone else who really stands a shot. Again I think we're back at the "who will screw up least" sort of thing unfortunately.

I don't believe that his race has anything to do with anything...at least it shouldn't. This election is too important for either race or gender to be even the slightest consideration. My problem with Barack Obama is that he is one of the front runners, and I see all the front runners as corporate elitist tools. I don't trust any candidate who gets his or her campaign financing from the very people who already have too much control over the money, the laws, and the politicians, simply by virtue of their ability to buy the politicians. They literally own all the candidates that they back, and those politicians are only concerned with the interests of their backers. That means that the rest of us get s(rew ed. In order for We The People, to regain control over our country, we have got to get the money out of the election process, and level the playing field. *sm*

As I said in another post, Barack Obama is the only democRAT making any sense. And, yet the elites of his own party are shunning him. African-Americans actually do better in the GOP. The democRATs just take their votes for granted.
Hilliary is the queen of her party. She has already been anointed their presidential candidate. And, you can bet the rent she will not let Barack Obama be her running mate.

Ahh, I see we have another graduate from the Jackson/Sharpton school of politics.
Considering that most of us vote the issues rather than a race or gender I would have to say that the views of Barack Obama among us "white people" varies as much as it does in the black community.
Myself, I would not vote for him simply because I disagree with his politics, I wouldn't care if he was white, black, green, purple or plaid.
Thank you for turning an non-race issue into a race issue though.

Have you ever seen a movie called "Head of State" with Chris Rock? You should, very funny, deals with this subject.
As for Barack, I really don't think he'll get the nomination, ask again after the primary if he wins.

I think he is the only one that can really understand all people and would make a great president.

He has permanently associated himself with the democratic party. Otherwise, I like what I've seen from him...It does worry me a little that his stepfather was from Indonesia.

I would vote for him, but I'm from one of those Blue States. I don't think he would be too popular with the red necks though or the nascar crowd.
