Here are my reasons:
1. Very little of it is original material. Instead, it is cobbled together from bits and pieces of other people's songs and passed off as something new,
2. This music was much better when it focused on poverty and other social problems. Now it talks about silly things like jewelry, cars, money, and mansions.
3. I don't like how it puts down women, especially black women.
4. It glorifies crime and violence.
5. It's very repetitive. If you've heard one song, you've pretty much heard them all.

No. The music started off as a vehicle for the ryhme only, so coming up with original music wasn't necessay. Plus poor kids didn't have the money for instruments or lessons like a lot of these garage band kids. Sampling itself is an artform that many can't do, regardless of how much you hate it. (funny how Elvis stole entire songs-not sampled-yet he's a legend in many minds). Sampling also resurrected the careers of many artist who were broke & forgotten. Their album sales picked up again, they toured & were paid for the samples-at least those who owned their publishing. With all that said there's nothing that keeps hip hop artists from creating original music-some do-duh? Many really don't understand the complexities of what "good" rappers do & some it can't be explained to-bc you just want to b itch about it. I don't have time here-so just hold on to your perceived musical tastes superiority complex.

Hate ? who said that I hated it ? well, they're straight out liars !! I don't hate this stuff -- just simply don't care for it !!
It is pumped up personalities speaking their way through musical backgrounds about subject matter that I couldn't give a damn about !! It is more a contemporary cultural poetry than any type of Music in my view !! I mean, hell, Rod McKuen was doing THIS twenty years before the first rap artist ever said their first words !! No one ever called HIM a musician -- he was a poet and -- proud of it !!
The music industry suffered a major blow the day that the MTV people found that they could push this stuff on people and buy "rap artists" off the street for a dime a dozen and make millions by putting them on air 24/7 telling everyone that THIS was where it was !!
