Hi,
Right now my Home Internet connection is not working and I'm forced to write this from my friends laptop in the hope that you can help me, I will outline my problems below and your help is greatly appreciated:

1. Internet Exporer 7 keeps saying "Page cannot be displayed".

2. I'm unable to access any secure sites and it keeps saying my firewall is blocking HTTPS and HTTP but I don't know hot to change the settings.

3. When I click the Internet Explorer link it takes me to the Microsoft site, which is confusing as I've set my home page as Yahoo UK. When I reach this site it just says "Page cannot be displayed.

4. I've checked and run Virus and Spyware scans and my system seems fine and running really fast. My internet connection is active but I just can't seem to acess it!!

I really apprecate your help,
Thank you

I suggest that you run the installation again. You probably installed IE7 on top of a previous version or you had some other application running in background.
Be sure that you follow the instructions carefully and that nothing else is running while you install.

PS: close, disable [eventually unistall] all those antivirus and firewalls while you upgrade to IE7...

Internet Explorer 7 is NOT, I repeat NOT a Beta Version!

Have you diagnosed connection problems at all?

Go into your control panel and double click on network connections, what does it tell you there?

Have you tried scanning in safe mode at all?

In your Firewall...(which one is it btw?) Can you allow iexplorer and tell me what happens?

whoever said set your security settings to low, I would not recommend doing that. There is NO need to do that.

my dad recently installed that on my computer since my internet explorer 6 wasn't functioning. then, someone told me that internet explorer 7 is a beta. IE7 also kept saying "pg. cannot be displayed." now, my dad had to reinstall internet explorer 6. it's still malfunctioning a bit, but you should reinstall the old version.

You could also try changing the security settings in Tools; Internet options. Try changing it to low and see what happens.

unplug the whole system..plug back in & then try again.

or..download Mozilla Firefox (free) & access the internet via that...i get these problems at times as well with Internet Explorer.....maybe the server is busy...but i am always luckier trying Mozilla.
