<>< At this point it does not really matter. If all stays the same (or he enters the race) I will be voting for the lesser of all evils. Not one of them from any party seems like a good choice to me. The US is going to hell in a handbasket it would seem.

I am an Independent. I would like to see a canidate that will stay strong on the war on terrorism, does not believe in using abortion as birth control, will stop this insanity about the US tax payer bearing the burden of the illegal immigrants, and let us go back to the majority rules (providing no one is harmed) instead of these fringe groups getting all of their agendas crammed down our throats. I don't think that person exists.

He has already announced that he's not running, that he's burnt out on politics and wants to continue his work outside of office.

Which is too bad, because even though we have a good selection of Dems this year to choose from, Al Gore would jump to the head of the line ten times over, and would be ABSOLUTELY getting my vote.

What I've seen in politics in 45 years is NEVER count anybody totally out. Richard Nixon was a washed up joke according to common wisdom, and then he went on to win two elections as president! The public likes familiar faces, and their mood and allegiance can change very quickly.

I WOULD like him to be president. however, i dont think he would win so i would rather see him continue building his reputation back up as a private citizen.
there have been a series of subtle signs that signify he is considering it, or so people argue. for example, last i heard, he had not actually asked grass roots organisations to stop preparing for him to run (building funds, materials, educating people on his stance/record ect). much earlier than this point last election he had sent that message to all those groups that he knew of. I think these "signs" are just happenstance, and not to be taken to seriously, but you can if you want. i dont REALLY know.

I don't think he will run. Both he and his camp are vehemently denying a late entry into the race.

I'm not sure if I would like it or not. I just don't know enough about his stances on other issues. His view on Global Warming and his cause to bring attention to it is noble, but we have many, many more problems facing us than just this single-minded approach that this will solve everything.

I do believe in his cause, but I do think his efforts would be better served if he stayed focused on that arena alone. And not let his feverish commitment to that cause allow other causes to go ignored.

Maybe we could WRITE in his name, so there would be no hanging chads to dispute....just big block printed letters...G-O-R-E!
I would love that. Justice would be served! But he may get flack for having a big luxury house that is not so green.....HA, though, I would give him the White House any day!

He would be a better Democratic candidate than Hillary is.

But I am not voting for either one of them. I am voting for Ron Paul!
