my laptop and modem supports wireless. whenever i try to view wireless networks nothing pops up. it just says no wireless networks are found in this range. how can i fix this. the modem and laptop are right next to each other. by the way i got a 1701 hg gateway 2wire modem

you have to identify the network to the laptop. There should be a SWITCH on your laptop that you have to turn on to allow the laptop to look for wireless networks. On my Toshiba laptop, the switch is on the right side of the unit.

is already 802.11g on the spot already??? or are you utilising a working laptop or laptop card?? the two way you are able to serch for the sign with the two and your router call will look next in keeping with what form of 2wire router you have sort ect... the wep key's in ( ) on the backside of the router I rather have a 2700-HG-B so i'm hoping this facilitates you
