How did John Locke's political philosophy influnce democratic revolution? Something other than stuff about the natural rights would be nice.

Locke wrote that there was a social contract between the people and their government. If the government was not performing its function to the satisfaction of the majority of the people, they were justified in rebelling to replace the government. Many revolutions have used Locke's argument as justification for rebellion - most notably the American colonies
in 1775-76.
