Me and my friend can not get over this question motley crue or nirvana of course motley crue is with out a doubt the best band ever formed. so im with them but my friend thinks that nirvana is better so any ideas let me know.

I don't know about best band ever formed, but I will pledge my allegiance to Motley Crue. I never got into Nirvana, I didn't really like Kurt Cobain but I certainly liked Mick Mars! I saw them play last year and they're still great!
And 'Frejaya', had you known anything about Motley Crue you would have understood that they started the hair metal revolution, spawning many look-a-like bands. Nirvana ended that era, and started their own, but I think that they lost themselves when it actually took off.

For those folks who only get a chance to listen to whats played on the radio pick up Motley Crues first 2 albums from the early 80's . Shout at The Devil and Too Fast For Love ...Great albums..very raw. Nirvana was ok but I never really got into them.

You really can't compare two bands of a different genre and time. Motley Crue was part of the 80's hair metal, Nirvana was part of the 90's grunge. They both are good in their own ways. Grunge never made it into the music business well and Nirvana's only major hit was "Smells like teen spirit" and didn't even make it really big until Kurt died. .... Why's that?

Nirvana's much better....Motley Crue are just a bunch of old posers- not original at all. Nirvana at least started a revolution in music while Motley Crue sounded like everything else that was on the market back then...and looked like drag queens!

definately motley crew,i grew up with hair bands and i just think that bands from the 80's surpass grunge music.don't misunderstand me,i like nirvana but they just keep playing their tunes on my radio stations over and over and over.plus these two bands are two totally different styles of rock.i like more metal and im just a little burnt out with nirvana,they only made a small handful of songs so your pickings are slim.my vote is for motley crew.yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Motley Crue is all right but the fact is they were a cookie cutter band, there music was stamped out just the way the music industry wanted it to be. I am not putting them down, but Nirvana is pure unadulterated raw angst and emotion and desperate mystery.

They're both very big influencial bands. I love both but if i had to choose i'd probably say Motley Crue. They have alot of talent between them.
