As I said on my last post, my husband, Greg, and I had a list of eight names. (four each) Mine were Aurora, Ruby, Aubree, and Felicity. His were Savannah, Stella, Ireland, and Elizabeth. We took the advice of "Irish Mommy" on here and elimenated Savannah and Aubree. We decided to take another off of eachother's lists and he took off Ruby and I took off Ireland. (He thinks Ruby is too old and I think Ireland is too trendy) We combined them to make one list and said to pick your least favorite. I said Elizabeth (because it's too popular), and he said Stella.
Long story short we have only Aurora and Felicity left. I like Felicity and he prefers Aurora, so we decided to come on here, and ask which one you prefer. The one that has the most prefrences becomes our daughter's first name, and the other is the middle name.
Please don't say Felicity because it's my favorite like my friends do. I want a fair answer. This child is as much his as it she is mine.

I think the names you have left are both beautiful names. Irish Mommy is a wise lady ;o) Her and I have become good friends if I do say so myself. The funny thing is that my mother's name was Felicity Aurora. I think they're both really pretty names. Maybe you can try combining them. If not I think that this is a hard choice. Felicity on one hand is a lovely name. On the other hand in my opinion I cannot picture a little kindergarten student named Felicity. I think of it as more of a woman's name however that does not mean that I don't like it. Aurora is a really nice name. It's feminine and pretty and I think that you and your husband can come to some sort of conclusion. Normally I'm of more help but considering I think both names are lovely this is a hard one.

I don't have a preference for either name. But I think that Felicity Aurora flows a little better than Aurora Felicity. Although, I have to say that I kinda like the idea of naming her Aurora and having a nickname of Rory.
I think that any way you go will be really nice.

Hello again. ;) I'm glad you were able to narrow down the list in a way that made you BOTH happy! Don't you love getting to this point and *knowing* one of these will be your child's name? ;) That said, either would be a perfectly lovely choice -- dare I say I love them equally?! -- so I can see why the decision would seem a difficult one. Either way it sounds like both will be used, and we're just deciding on the order here? In that case, you simply can't go wrong!
Personally, I love the versatility of Aurora, since it offers the obviously-feminine given name with the option of a less "frilly" nickname (Rory), should she prefer it.
Felicity I actually prefer in full ... and that's saying a lot, because I'm a "nickname person." I just love giving a child options. ;) However, this is one of the few cases where I adore the formal name, but don't really care for any of the nicknames quite as much. Nothing wrong with them at all, especially if there's one YOU love -- and I may not be remembering correctly, but I think you'd planned on Fliss here? -- just that I love the full name that much more. ;)
Given all that, I would personally go with Aurora Felicity, nicknamed Rory, since most everyone in our family DOES regularly use a shortened form. However, in the case of parents who don't use nicknames or who happen to love one for this name, Felicity Aurora is an equally attractive option.
Hope that helps, and congrats on finally having THE names! ;)

I like both names, but I like Felicity a little bit better. So.......I tried to say them out loud with each one as the first. I liked both of them....lol So, I imagined what a grown up felicity or Aurora would be like. As a child, they both seem cute, but what image would I have of a 30 year old if I spoke to her on the phone and she told me her name...............I really like Felicity better now. Aurora was not a bad image, Felicity just seemed more like a mature, intelligent, professional female. It was close, but I like:
Felicity Aurora
Hope this helps = )

Felicity Aurora or
Aurora Felicity
I like Felicity Aurora cause it flows nicer, but it would depend on the last name....she will be a lucky girl with either name

Well I did a little survey(asked 20 moms) and the majority prefer Aurora Felicity. In my opinion I think it's up to you both to choose, obviously. To me, Felicity sounds like a common, "normal",trendy name and Aurora sounds more unique and it's a beautiful name-well both names are.Aurora makes me think of nature, particular flowers and sweet smells or something exquisite- like music, for some reason.
