It means why work hard for something, when there is an easier, although not necessarily more justifiable morally, solution to the problem

It means why have a cow, (they are rather expensive to buy/look after) in order to get fresh milk when you can sneak into the nearest dairy farm with a bucket and help yourself. You do of course run the risk of being shot but then some people like to live dangerously.

It means why would you get married for sex when you can have sex without getting married/commitment.
I don't like the expression because milk isn't free...

You always see this expression with relationships. Mostly Ive heard it said about women who "get involved" with men and then the man doesn't want a more serious relationship. Them man is getting the perks of the relationship, without the commitment.

Often this saying is used to detract girls from living w/ a guy or sleeping w/ a guy before she's married to him or else he'll never marry her if he can get the priviliges of marriage w/ out actually marrying her

It means that, sometimes to get anything there is two way, the first way is the normal way to reach or get it and you must pay for it (not always money), but there is a second way to rip it, it is easy and free but is not honestly!

Um... it means that if girl is willing to have sex with a guy without a ring on her finger, then there's no reason for the guy to ever marry her.
