Hi,
I just bought I bike last Friday, The DMV won't open until next Monday. If I successfully completed the MSF BCR Training and I have a valid License Driver... Can I use my bike while I'm processing my motorcycle endorsement? I'm planning to apply for this endorsement next week but meanwhile I would like to go around with my bike.
Thanks
Does anyone know the North Carolina motorcycle restrictions?

Some details: I do not have any motorcycle endorsement (nor learners permit).

I am in NC and recently went through the process of getting my permit and endorsement. In NC, you can take the written test and if you pass will receive a motorcycle learners permit, which will enable you to ride with only one restirction, no passenger. To get an endorsement you have to take the road test, and that will enable you to have a passenger. I'm not going to lie and say I didn't ride mine some before I got the proper license but it is technically illegal, and if caught you will at least be cited, and could possibly, depending on the mood of the officer, have your ability to get the M endorsemnet revoked. To be honest, as much as I know you want to ride, I would wait. Especially if you live anywhere near Lowe's Motor Speedway, because my Trooper Buddies are all over the place because of the race tonight, and they WILL be doing random license checks. This is not the weekend to try your luck.

If NC requires a motorcycle learner's permit or endorsement to ride a motorcycle on public streets, then you will have to wait to ride your motorcycle until you have that endorsement or learner's permit.

The law in North Carolina requires the operator of any motorcycle to have a motorcycle endorsement shown on their driver license or possess a motorcycle learner permit.

The worst that can happen is you get busted and they suspend your driver's license and you have to pay a fine..... Well I guess that isn't the worst that could happen but it could happen. Or, you crash and end up in the hospital which would also be up there with "the worst that could happen" category (so wear a helmet whatever you end up deciding to do).

Hi, I am not sure but in California, and they are pretty strict here, you can drive even without the msf endorsement HOWEVER they don't allow you to drive freeways or after dark.
So you can drive now. I am sure that if you got pulled over and showed the officer your cert. and explain you are waiting until monday he or she would let you go...unless they were a jerk.
