Send her to this site:

http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx

and have her google "depo provera lawsuit".

And get OFF the shot.

Her bleeding is normal. Some people don't bleed, some people bleed for months on end, and some have regular periods.

Depo, like all other contraceptives, are ONLY 99% effective against pregnancy. IF she feels she is pregnant, get a pregnancy test done or talk to a doctor.

No...

The shot can cause VERY irregular bleeding, and even EVERY DAY bleeding. The shot can also TOTALLY STOP your period, but each woman reacts differently.

The shot is known to cause these problems.

If these problems are bothering your friend, say she wants to switch to a birth control that does not do this, she should ask her doctor.

No, I had the same thing, and they couldn't find out why. In the end I cam off it cos they reckoned it wasn't suitable. But I would advise your friend to see her doctor and mention the bleeding, as there may be another gynae problem that needs looking at..

No, I have heard of this happening to many women. I think one of the symptoms of the shot is break through bleeding.
