As much as I love the whole Christmas season and I do buy stuff early if the price is right, the shops do stock their merchandise a bit too early.

I think it would be more appropriate to wait until after Halloween before putting out decorations. It feels very strange when you walk into a store and you notice Christmas decorations besides some back to school ads.

People have the power.

My local Asda put up Christmas decorations just before my Birthday, mid-September. Two days later they were taken down, official word was it was a 'trial' speak to anyone who works there and they'll tell you they had too many compliants.

September, October, and to mid-November is really too early, but generally 'retail sense' would sugest they'll appear right after Halloween/Bonfire Night.

As for 'goodies' Christmas goodies are so general these days, yes Roses, Coronation Street boxes are in there by the shedload, but they can be useful all year round. I'd love to have 'Christmas pud' at any other time of the year.

The run up to christmas is a very busy time for a lot of people at work. I find it really helpful that the shops have stuff on sale now as I can do my shopping during the holidays I have in October.

I used to think it was too early, but this is my first Christmas in my own house and I have very little decorations and shops and catalogues selling things early have been a great help to me. I've been able to buy most decorations, wrapping paper, cards etc without spending a whole load of money all at once.

The Christmas chocolate and advent calenders are a bit too early though.

Yes! Noticed Christmas cards in one shop at the end of July. Way too early.

this isn't a top away answer for your question, yet undergo with me, it truly is correct! 2007 talked concerning the inability of both my mom and one among my grandchildren, so we actually did not experience like celebrating Christmas. We offered purely token gives you and spent a quiet day at the same time as a relatives. we actual had a serene, very nearly holy day (which, even with each and every thing, is the completed factor, isn't it?) We then had 'Eastmas' at Easter, swapping presents with an total turkey dinner. We had a fabulous time and that i'm confident that it changed into the inability of hype surrounding our version of Christmas that made it so relaxing. So convinced, it truly is unquestionably too early for shops to commence promoting Christmas!

Enjoy it whilst you can before the PC-brigade manages to ban Christmas altogether! (Yes, I have an issue with political correctness and Christmas!)

I think shops also bring out Easter eggs too early, and Halloween stuff. Halloween only lasts one night, and yet a whole aisle is dedicated to it in Asda! Whereas Christmas-time is most of December and the beginning of January (i.e. lasts a lot longer!)!

Absolutely! I LOVEEEEEE Christmas and fill my house with decorations, goodies and gifts during the season. But this whole thing of walking into a store and finding Christmas trees decorated and such in SEPTEMBER is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!!! Money grubbers!

(Thanks for asking! That was bugging me today when I was at the mall)

Yes but when you think its about making money the tradition of christmas has long gone. Now its about profit and buying the latest toys for your kids. Having said that it is an expensive time and not everybody can afford it . So you have to give people a chance to buy .
