Is it not the case that christianity is reasserting itself as the main force in British social and political life and as such will help to improve the moral fabric of our society?

Such desperate acts by politicians in thrall to the neo-cons are actually indicative of the fact that we are a secular society and christianity is withered beyond redemption.

Christian way of life has been on a steady decline throughout the later part of the last decade. The number of parishes almalgamated, church closures and falling numbers would suggest that point of view.

I don't think state intervention on the question of a good christian marriage is appropriate in whether a family has a tax reduction or not. If thats the case then those families who are regarded as partners their families, therefore would not qualify.

Friggin hell, I hope not. For the sake of mankind, it better be on the decline. Our broken society is probably due to religion and its corrupt followers. A political party are not the best people to preach about what is moral - they are the most corrupt, and immoral people about!

Christianity has no link with higher moral values. If anything, it proves the opposite!

It's got f-all to do with Christianity : kids just need to be taught a good sense of right and wrong withput religious clap trap getting in the way. They also need some decent role models to look up, who really don't have to be religious by the way and certainly not some airhead celebrities who only end up in rehab anyway when the fame gets too much.

And anyway, ok society is broken but look as to why. Would it REALLY be cured overnight if church attendance were made compulsory, say? I think not.

Don't be daft!

What on earth has christianity got to do with 'repairing our broken society'?

Just look at America. They have a far worse problem than we do with regard to gang culture and violence and yet they are all obsessed with religious mumbo jumbo over there.

Christianity only leads to ignorance and paedophilia.

Don't believe what our politicians may say. They don't believe in anything apart from what they think will play well with the electorate and get themselves re-elected!

B_liar the man who helped kill 600,000 people in Iraq started wacko "academies" which are outdated religious schools and belong in the 17th century.

These Academies which are often christian or even Muslim have helped create a resurgence of religion in the UK .

Most of the masses of people who leave failed countries to come to the UK are religious in some way or the other---it is the biggest disaster in the whole of UK history

No it just shows that the politicians are out of touch yet again with the electorate. Religion is dead in this country we are just waiting for the gov to realise.
The only religious people here are the Muslim immigrants and look what the wish to achieve.
