They sold out, that's why. Most of the people who hate MCR now knew about them back during their "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" or their "Three Cheers" album, and they were both harder. They are simply changing their music to fit what the industry is promoting by saying "it's cool". I enjoy almost any song off their older albums, but I absolutely can't stand their new stuff.

I just can't stand it when people are like, "OMG, IT'S _______(MCR, Boys Like Girls, etc.). I TOTALLY EFFING LOVE THEM!!! ________ IS SO HOTT!!!"

That just annoys the hell out of me. Those are the people who are shaped by the radio and MTV, and who don't bother looking around for the next big thing, and just allow themselves to be molded.

By the way, they aren't emo.

*edit* By concept album, do you mean like a new kind of sound in the scene? If you want a new sound, listen to The Panic Division, or So They Say.

First Off: I like mcr

But people basically call mcr emo because of the way they dress, or because of "I'm Not Okay". The song sounds emo to people. So if someone hears that song they will say that mcr is emo and not listen to any other songs. My first my chem song was Helena. I liked it, because it reminded me of my grandmother. So I tried more mcr songs, and now I'm an mcr fan. But I DON'T go saying "Oh Gerard way is so hot! I want his babies!!!!" and stuff like that. I care about the music, not the looks. Also, some people think that they're emo cause Gerard swears a lot.

Okay, I think I'm done!

I'm going to check out to inject a degree-headed reaction into this arguement. I used to relatively hate bands like MRC, I nonetheless do not just like the track, however I'd as a substitute pay attention to my track than yell at others for being attentive to theirs. Here are a few causes men and women do not like them: a million)They do kinda promote out, severely. By that, I imply up to now it looks as though their snapshot is extra primary than their musical originality and integrity, the equal factor with KISS. two) Their lovers (and this can be a wholly impartial opinion) are the 3rd such a lot worrying men and women on Earth. The first is Paparazzi and the moment is loud men and women. MCR lovers are (customarily speakme) loud, obnoxious, take the band (and themselves) waaay to significantly, and feel that MCR is not just doing what a host of alternative bands earlier than them have performed. three) They pander to the MTV viewers. Unforgivable. four) Their lovers suppose they're truly punk or rock, (or each). five) Their iteration of track up to now has now not obvious any relatively satisfactory bands (a good way to stand the experiment of time, probably MCR will, I do not know) 6) Compared to different state-of-the-art bands (Rancid, QOTSA, and so on), they've little instrumental proficiency (despite the fact that they nonetheless control to jot down first rate songs, or well songs (if you are a fan)) 7) They appear emo. No rationalization wanted. eight) As a bassist, I hate it whilst any band's bassist has little proficiency, and MCR's bass participant does, relatively suck. (despite the fact that now not up to Pete Wentz.) I desire this clears matters up. MCR isn't the nice band ever. No band from 1990-2007 will also be the nice band ever. On the opposite hand, steel heads and different such track fans must develop up, and give up bagging on different men and women's track. Korn and Slipknot suck, interval. If you desire rock, pay attention to AC/DC, or Led Zeppelin, when you desire Metal, there is nonetheless Slayer, Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest... and so on.

Because it seems like they changed their music. If you compare the Black Parade to their previous albums you'll see they changed their style to fit more into what the record lable wants them to sound like, which is sounding like everything else on the radio today. Also, they just seem to be way too overplayed and after a while they ended up getting annoying with all the fangirls and emo references to them.

Because not everyone chooses to like the same styles of music. So you may think they're cool, but I really think they suck. Its just a matter of taste. I used to like them until they turned into the black parade. Just "Welcome to the black parade" just put me off. I got rid of all my, my chemical romance stuff and haven't listened to them since. I think it might be the fact that theres so many emo/scene kids just running around like "Omg Gerard Way is Teh Sex!" Thats just really annoying. And people also say they own my chem? It just seemed to put me off them even more. I havent had any interest in listening to them ssince.

If you listen to the classics like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, you would understand that don't even compare. Alot of MCR are crazy over MCR and that gets very annoying, especially when they stuff like "Gerard Way is the best guitarist of all time", cause that's not true at all.
I don't really like their music, cause it just doean't jump at me... if I like a song, I like it and I just never got into MCR, they seem way too whiny, and maybe its because I'm a proghead, but nothing seems complex enough, everything's repetative and not really innovative.

*edit
taostxcore: LOL, well, some obsessed MCR fan got her facts wrong... cause I'm quoting directly from a Y!A question
Sorry about that

They are def music no matter how badly they are. They're just not "good" music.

"music is about... well MUSIC not about genre"
Not everyone like the same music, so it IS about genre.

They suck because they sound very similar to other bands and they don't make themselves unique. They were once good, but now they are whiney and tries too hard to write "darker" forms of music.

Look, I'm46 years old and I like their music. Yes they are nice to look at but what's wrong with that. I personally think the Black Parade istheir best work to date. I don't understand how people can be so hard on them.

they're just annoying overall....not original at all.
I don't really understand what's so appealling about them and their music but i've noticed that the majority of their fans tend to be really young, so they've probably never experienced (yet) the great, original music....i hope it's just a phase people are going through lol
honestly i cannot stand the guy's whiny vocals and desperate lyrics.
i'll never understand their success...don't get 'em, don't like 'em, don't care!!
