I think actors/actresses whose films have stood the test of time. There are some really good actors/actresses around at the moment but would people still want to see them in years to come when fashion (and what goes for being attractive) changes. I would have to go with Spencer Tracey for the best actor role, and Audrey Hepburn for actress, both have stood the test of time.

My picks:
Best Actor of all time....Jimmy Stewart
Best Actress of all time...Katherine Hepburn
Honorable Mentions: Marlon Brando, Henry Fonda, Bette Davis, Lillian Gish

Best Living Actor...Paul Newman
Best Living Actress...Meryl Streep
Honorable Mention: Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Blythe Danner, Jennifer O'Neil.

Don't see enough films anymore to rate the young actors.

Hard call but I have to say its a toss up between Will Smith and Mel Gibson for actor. Actress I would have to say Julia Roberts. She is always on the mark.

That's an extremely subjective questions. Some will say Cary Grant, others will say Audrey Hepburn, I've even been told Yahoo Serious. It all depends on who you ask

I don't know about your generation, but my generation is definitely no stranger to Julia Roberts and Richard Gere for their outstanding performance in Pretty Woman.
