I believe in the 5 second rule, that's how I learned it. Never heard of a 10 second rule. Usually I count to maybe, maybe 2 and still grab something off the floor. If I have to, I nuke it in the microwave just to make sure there's no germs on it still.

Someone told me that when a food drops on the floor I can still eat it because:

Examine a group of ants. Drop something to them. They will panic and spread out and get far from the thing that fell.

So when a food drops on the floor, the germs and bacteria panic, just like the ants.

Hahahahhaha. Sounds reasonable to me.
But I think that's only a joke. But I believe in the 10 second rule.

If you are waiting ten seconds before answering a message, it must have ticked you off. What can the sender do to redeem him/her self ? The 10 second rule is a good one. It's saved me from blowing my stack at the wrong time.

maximum cancers has no longer something to do with cleanliness, yet i think allergies does. I in no way worry approximately germs, purely the actual dirt which may well be on a floor. There are human beings whose flooring i might consume off of. no longer mine in spite of the undeniable fact that.
