Does anyone know how long it takes to get thought customs?

We are arriving in Rome from Chicago on a Wednesday in the last Week in April. Our flight arrives at about 8 AM.

it really depends. It can take a couple of hours if the airport is busy, and at 8am coming from a hub in the US it probably will be. I'm sure you'll be exhausted and excited to start your vacation, but just wait patiently and it will be ok.
