"Please Mr Postman" had a complicated genesis. The Marvelettes' 1961 US chart-topper helped establish Berry Gordy Jnr's Tamla Motown operation and was later covered by the Beatles and the Carpenters, who took it back to No 1 in the United States in 1975

i've got been raised with The Carpenters version...It replaced into basically some years lower back as quickly as I found out that The Marvelettes have been the unique. i've got heard The Beatles conceal, yet for my area, it appears like a wide-unfold-Beatle product...the variety that could bypass into the class of songs like "i prefer to hold Your Hand" and "Love Me Do." So my answer is The Carpenters version. (2d could be the Shirelles/Marvelettes because of the fact they sound incredibly comparable.)

Without a doubt.. "Please Mr. Postman" is a classic track from The Carpenters - and features on the "Carpenters Gold" compilation.
