Why are people attracted to people that hurt them emotionally? i.e, boyfriends.

This question should go in the psychology section. In the case of boyfriends, well, I suppose that's what some women are willing to go through to have that man's babies. Probably some unconscious desire.

No self esteem. The feeling of unworthiness leads that person to believe that they can't do better and are afraid to face reality alone, no matter how disturbed the person they are with is.

I don't know, but I wish my daughter could figure that out. She always seems to pick that type.
