Custom Gaming Computer, Haven't bought anything yet, Would cost me about $3000 AUD

Any thoughts on it?

I did consider getting a Sound Card for better audio but I don't think its going to be something i really need...

I'll probably get a "Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer" Sound Card if you think a sound card is worth it.

I did consider an Intel with AMD being struggling recently.... but I think I'm going to stick with AMD. Personal Preference.

The one problem with the raptor drive, although it is 10,000rpm currently its only available in 150GB and its still quite expensive. (I can get a 500GB for cheaper and a 1TB one for just a little bit more @ 7,200rpm) I guess i could get 2 if i wanted more space but it's still quite expensive. I'm aware a good gaming computer isn't going to come cheap but unfortunately I don't have and endless bag of money =[

Looks good man, the intel cpu's are a little better lately, but that's no biggie. The one thing I would do is put a 10,000 rpm raptor hard drive in it, it's the slow link in the chain and a fast drive makes a big difference

It has particularly some ram (8 gigs), way extra desirable than you will desire for something. The ram is purely ddr2 800, and for gaming riggs i like to maximise ram velocity, as gaming is all approximately throughput, no longer likely length, in spite of the indisputable fact that, I digress, ddr2 800 remains prevalent. Its an AMD quad. it may well be ok. I want intel, yet they are plenty extra costly. The motherboard is an asus. Asus motherboards are super. i'm unsure if i might combine an ati board with an nVidia card in spite of the undeniable fact that. Ittl run any sport available i might wager. i've got not got particularly some journey with AMD processors, much less with hybrid amd/nvidia equipment (I even tend to flow with the two amd/ati or intel/nvidia).

It's good but still quite slow.
athlon 64 X2=intel core duo
wait for the quad duo version of amd.
energy efficient, fast, and affordable like all amd processors.

About the sound card, you need it very much because the motherboard has built-in sound card. But if you want better sound, then buy one.

if you have 3000 dollars I would change this items:
CPU - Intel core duo 2 Q6800
Motherboard - asus striker or evga 680 board
RAM Corsair 2 gb E.P.P
Sound card - Sound Blaster Xfi

The system you want is good but be aware that Quad is the future, and the AM2 sokect is on the verge of extintion.

Everything looks good, the only thing I would say is that the power supply is a little overkill, you didn't to spend that much on one that big, 700W will be plenty. Other than that everything else looks great, but you should get a sound card, you can hear the difference.
