Am not a fan of either Al Gore or George Bush, quite frankly.
I do think that the Nobel prize committee (and Europeans in general) love to thumb their noses at the U.S. whenever possible...though I'd like to think that the Nobel Committee wouldn't let that SERIOUSLY affect their choice.
Europe, of course, has LONG been after the U.S. to sign off on the Kyoto accords...because that would hurt the U.S. economy, with our "consumer driven" system...which they all criticize, but secretly envy. (Though now a lot of European scientists are starting to re-think the global warming scenario...especially when they investigate the research methods, many of which were faulty.)
Don't know exactly what I personally believe regarding global warming. I sure wish we could have some objective research into it...by people with no political ax to grind...but it may be too much of a political football for that now. (It especially bothers me that so many of the climatologists who pound the table for global warming now are the same ones who insisted...back in the 1970's...that the world was cooling off, and that we were slowly headed for another ice age.)
Congrats to former VP Gore and the UN group he shared it with. A Nobel prize is always something special.

The prize should be embarrassing to Dems. because Gore is so obviously a phony. A better receipiant would be Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, or Oprah . These people gave of themselves, their resources, and millions of dollars to better help people much worse off than anyone can imagine. The fact that they wer left out of the running, and someone like Al Gore, who wouldn't know the truth, be it inconvenient or not, proves this prize, plus the oscar, emmy, and all the Hollywood celebrations, was based on politics alone.

Being a conservitive republican I am not the least bit embarrassed personaly because Gore won the nobel peace prize. I don't see any conection between a group of anti-American leftists who award this prize and George Bush ,other than the connections enemies have in general.

Let's see, Gore is intelligent, Bush is not.
Gore cares about America and the world, Bush cares about how much money he can make from the war.
When was the last time a Conservative won something as prestigious as the Nobe Peace Prize? Of course they are jealous of Gore, and they will do anything to discredit him.

The prize that the Nobel committee gives out has ceased to be anything meaningful when they hand one over in the name of "peace" to Yassir Arafat. They were exposed for all time after that as an easily corruptible band of nitwits who are filled with a sense of self-importance with absolutely NO regard for peace.

- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions

Check the list of people that have been given this award since around 1965 and you change your opinion from that it's an honor to that of disgrace.
