I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge. When I started out, I didn't have much information and spent countless weeks, months and even years learning the ropes by trial and error. I know how valuable information and resources are to people who are starting out from scratch. So I recently decided to use some of my spare time to create a blog with Disney Channel casting notices, audition information, information on getting an agent, demo-reels, resumes, etc. There are far too many scam artists out there who take advantage of those actors who are trying to make their dreams come true. The information and casting notices I provide are totally free and legitimate. Hopefully I can save some people a few bucks and a lot of footwork.
(I have also created a sister-site Hannah Montana Auditions, and a general Acting Auditions site)
Sincerely,
Alan Baltes

The best thing you can do is to work very hard at being good at it. I think it is great that you know you want to do it and your age is a good time to start. Get into school or local classes and plays.
Learn from each and every experience. There are so many people that think they don't need classes and can just go out and do it. The business side of the acting world is tough and very demanding. You have to be so confident in what you are doing that you don't second guess yourself at every audition.
The more you are working at it, the more it will pay off for you. If you are good at it, people will notice. You will eventually get hired at bigger theaters or for films. Just remember that it takes a long time, but is worth it in the long run. Don't put pressure on yourself to be perfect. No one is.

look into getting experience first, thats probably going to be by joining amateur or community theatre - ask around local arts centres / theatres etc for contacts.
Then, start looking for a reputable casting agency, as a general rule most agencies that are reputable do not ask you to pay upfront to join, instead they take a little commission for whatever wages you get from with that they find for you. Google them, then email and ask for more details.
The internet - sites like Mandy.com, ukscreen.com etc, have a lot of film auditions, mainly for student and festival films which are one way of getting into film. When you go for an audition you find online, always always always take a friend and never ever hand over any money! And dont do any "auditions in private!". There are scams posted sometimes on these sites, but by bearing these rules in mind, you should be ok.

Make sure you get involved in your drama and chores classes at school or even playing insturments. Find out if your community has a children's acting course most do. And then get out the city's phone book and look up acting classes and/or singing classes and start taking them. An actor today has to be able to do it all. Sing, Act, Dance, and Play insruments. Start learning as much as you can. When you accomplish some of these on your list you can get an agent.

Hi Well, you must start with whatever theatre and drama there is in your school. Then you look for professional acting lessons offerred near enough to you for you to take a weekend class. You continue to build a resume of experience and professional classes until it is strong enough to submit to an agent for representation. This takes a few years. Good luck, Doc

If their is a theatre in your area, they could well have a youth drama group, you could join it!! Or if you are interested in film and TV extra work, search the Internet for film and TV acting agents near where you live, it should be free to join them, you will just need to pay for a head shot of yourself!! I have a agent and I have done some filming, its great!! Look at my profile to see what I have done!!
Good Luck!!
