When you are playing against virtual high school teams it's pretty easy to pile on the yards. No offense to those other schools but they are not big time football. Hawaii will go through the season undefeated, not having played a ranked opponent. 7 of the teams in the WAC have under .500 winning percentage. Unfortunately I think they'll probably end up playing a second tier Big East team in a bowl game and look good. Why don't they schedule a big boy team a couple times a year.

Yes they do have a running back Kealoha Pilares, and he is the leading rusher on the team with 247 yards (as of 10/12/07).
Hawaii has a Run & Shoot offense which is used by a few teams in college football. The offense puts up a show and a lot of points but the running game is pretty much non-existint and used on goal line situations at best. The offense uses more of a FB rather a RB for blocking purposes.
The Patriots don't run the Run & Shoot. Since the run & shoot offense doesn't use a TE. This eliminates the Patriots as users of the Run & Shoot offense (Ben Watson is a TE).

That's the whole concept of the Run N Shoot. Yeah they might run it 10-15 times a game, but the idea behind it spread the defense out, isolate defenders, and beable to make plays with all the one-on-one matchups. The problem with it though is the quarterback takes a lot of beatings when the defense blitzes. In order to run it to perfection you have to have a great offensive line, great playmakers at WR that fit the scheme and a QB whos very aware and knows when to dial up the right plays. Believe it or not the team that runs it the best right now...the New England Patriots in the NFL. Yes I know their RBs actually get yards and they have a good running game, but if you ever wanted to see the full potential of the Run N Shoot, watch the Patriots this year because Tom Brady utilizes all of the weapons around him, knows when a play will workl in what situation, and as you can see it's unstoppable when its at its full potential.

Pass! Pass! Pass! That's all they do. All day long. You can even guess what they are going to run on the next play. A Pass! It might work in C-USA but when they play a good team in a bowl game he will have less then 200 yds passing. And I doubt he will make it in the NFL. Like Timmy Chang also of Hawaii and, Kliff Kingsbury, Sonny Cumbie, B. J. Symons of Texas Tech.

its arena football. And against nobody teams...(oooh..San Jose St......wow. I grew up not too far from San Jose...and never even knew they HAD a football team...) Some schuck will blow a first round pick on this hoser.....and regret it for years to come. Hawaii is SO bloody overrated. I hope they make it to the NC game somehow.....so they can get crushed. Brennan has the most artificial passing figures out there.

The offense is street ball at its best. All the team needs is fire hydrants to run pass routes towards, stadium lights that flicker when hit by a football or rocks and parked cars for receivers to use as picks. But it is entertaining to watch and makes me wonder how it would work against LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, etc.

They have a running back, but not efficent. That is why Colt Brennans team might be able to go undefeated this. Just because of him.

i do not truly imagine this years quarterback type is that deep. There are purely 2 QBs projected as first rounders (Brian Brohm and Matt Ryan). Andre Woodson fell out of the first round such as his undesirable showing contained in the senior bowl. The Bears favor some extreme help on offense, yet all of it starts with the offensive line. they're going to maximum likely draft an offensive lineman contained in the first in the journey that they don't fulfill this favor in loose business enterprise. they're going to likely inspect 2d round QBs because there's a handful to make your techniques up on from. i imagine they're going to draft RB contained in the third round and with any success it truly is Kevin Smith. he's strictly what they're looking for. he's heavily underrated (though he changed into the countries greatest rusher) and could likely bypass on the earliest contained in the third round (which for my section is a thieve). Rashard Mendenhall is an particularly sturdy back and likely the wonderful contained in the draft, and could likely nevertheless be available on the 14th overall %., notwithstanding the bears have too a lot invested into Cedric Benson to draft yet another first round operating back. so a tactics as Colt Brennan is going, i really desire they stay faraway from him. He could bypass on to be a good quarterback notwithstanding it gained't take position in Chicago.
