Why does a certain person's mum keep a big hammer in the kitchen?
I need a list of items that can be cooked using a big hammer.

I use it to keep my son's fingers far away from the food while I'm cooking........

I have a hammer in my kitchen but its not for cooking its to hit people when they come in and try to steal a bite of food...

Yeah..how did you know...actually we have all the strange tools in kitchen like screwdriver, hammer, nails ,etc.
but we don't use it in cooking of course..we just keep them in kitchen.

My mom used this mallet type thingy, she pounded steaks, cause we could never afford the better cuts of meat, so she bought cheap so we could eat and pounded the heck out of it.

i think people use some kind of hammer to pound meat and make it softer

Tenderise the meat, but sometimes, it helps me with the chinese knife to cut through the bones of venison... hmmmm

Mine used it to tenderize steaks, prepare pepper steaks, etc.
