One of the most enjoyable aspects of going to the beach, is
to take a leisurely stroll near the waters edge. Especially on
a warm day so that you can walk in the wet sand, without
freezing. It's interesting to observe people at the beach too.
And I enjoy finding a picnic table at a location we enjoy, to
just sit and watch a panarama of activity below on the beach.
Everyone is focused on their own amusement, or entertain-
ment. People walking their dogs (at this beach they're allowed). Kids tossing a ball. Children wading in the inslet to
the ocean. Even cyclists riding near the water, on one of those wierd bicyles that sit low to the ground. There's usually
at least one kite flyer. And it's fun to see the different and
unusual kite designs they have available for sale today.
It's no fun to go to the beach, without having a bowl of clam
chowder or a burger at a family restaurant with a view of the
beach and ocean beyond. It's sort of like watching TV while
you're eating due to the entertainment of watching others.
No trip would be complete, without a trip to a local
candy store. Where you'll find some stores making taffy for
you to see. And then picking out some flavors of it to buy
by the pound to take home. And some shops not only sell
candy, but caramel popcorn and cotton candy. But the cotton
candy is now sold by the bag, and often too compressed.
I remember when it was on top of a paper cone and it was
like whipped glass, and it melts on your tongue. That's how
fine it should be anyway.
Some people like to enjoy the strolling of the shop walk.
Touring the busy little boutiques along a main drag through
the seaside community. Finding a souvineer or an item of
clothes, jewelry, or even a paper weight with a transparent
glass with ocean shells loosely inside.
And when all is said and done, there is no better way to
relax, than just finding a comfortable spot and watch the tide
roll in or out. The color of the water, and the white rim of the
waves as they roll into shore, can be so relaxing. And the
fresh air itself, can be known to cleanse your lungs as well
as your soul in moments. I seem to always leave feeling better than I have in a very long time. As it's always an in-
vigorating experience I've enjoyed since I was young.
And as if a heavy load has been lifted off my shoulders.

My mum and I always sat on the promanad and had a chippy and a can of coke, we would talk and laugh. We would sit watching the waves and enjoying the view and the nice breeze, we waited till later in the day to avoid the smell of seaweed caused by the sun heating it all up. xx
