Start by warming up your voice using scales (there are plenty of songs that you can sing that require you to sing from high to low pitches) and also ones that help you practice pronunciation so that your voice is clear when you sing. Practice everyday but be careful not to strain your voice by singing when you are tired etc. You could maybe join a choir or such for the next 2 months as they will be able to guide you and wouldnt require spending any money. Or you could go for singing lessons if you are happy to pay out.

I would call the music stores around you and see if they have voice coaches and get a few lessons there.
