I am 10 years old and I am doing a report on manhattan, new york they have a question for me to fill out saying is it near the equator and i have no clue. i dont have a globe at home this is 15 points for you guys at home

Go to maps.yahoo.com and put "Manhattan, NY" in the search box. Then slide the zoom slider all the way to [ - ] so you can see the map of the whole world. The horizontal red line across the middle is the equator.

Now you can see for yourself if it's near or far.

You don't have a globe, but you have a computer...look it up..no..it's not near the equator...too far north...

no. it is roughly halfway between the equator and the North Pole.

it is to far north to be close to the equator.
