Salyut 1 in 1971.

Depends on your definition of success.
If you mean which was the first space station that was functional for any period of time, that would be Cosmos 557 (it re-entered the atmosphere after 11 days in orbit.
The first that remained functional for an extended perios that would be Skylab in 1973-1974.
The other space stations before these 2 (Salyut 1 through 7) failed in one way or another.
Mir (1986-2000) was functional longer (28 different rotation crews).
And ISS has lasted the longest (since 2000).
