Turn the ignition switch to the on.
2. Press the select/reset knob repeatedly until the engine oil life is displayed.
3. Press and hold the select/reset knob for about 10 seconds. The information display shows the reset mode (initial display will read OIL LIFE "xxxxx")
4. Select the "OIL LIFE" indicator by turning the select/reset knob. The display will begin to blink. Push the same knob to enter this setting.
5. The engine oil life and the maintenance item code(s) will begin to blink. Push the select/reset knob to reset.
6. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100%.

Make sure the speedometer is showing the ODOMETER ... NOT the TRIP METER. Next ... you want to have the key in the ignition ... but NOT on. You are going to use the button that you use to switch from the odometer to the trip meter. You want to hold that button in. Next ... turn the key to the on position (do NOT start the vehicle ... just go until all the lights come on). You should see the MAINTENENCE LIGHT come on and it may flash off and then back on. Some of the lights will then stay on steady ... some will flash (not sure what yours will do). Continue holding the button in until the light goes out. While still holding the button ... turn the ignition switch off. Now turn it back on and you should see the light come on and then it will go off (if you did this right).

Okay, I got this from the deals mouth. Purpose of 5w20 oil is to improve mileage. Running on 5w30 is perfectly fine except you will sacrifice a small amount of mpg. My perspective......5w30 is better for the motor, screw the mileage. About 10 years ago when I had my repair shop, many g.m. pickups came in with motors recommending 5w30 oil. Most had been using 10w30 oil. Many motors were blown due to the lighter weight oil. I noticed that the factory replacement motors had switched back to 10w30 oil. Bottom line, don't trust the manufacturer in this case. Low viscosity oil may be good for mileage, but in the long run it does not provide the same protection for your motor (nor does waiting 10K between oil changes, but they recommend it anyway to keep maintenance index down).

I bought a FIT-and they told me I had to take mine into the dealers to get the light reset-but then that salesman told me a bunch of stuff. . .Be sure you keep proof of changing the oil for your warranty. . .
