Nothing. all the chemistry is based on new repartition of the electrons, the nuclei having no role.

Nothing really "happens" to the nucleus of each atom when sharing electrons. Sharing an electron will likely alter the total electric charge of the atom, however, since Electrons have a negative charge, while Protons have a positive charge.
