Check out the latest wrinkle. Sounds like Saskin was closer to Bettman and Daly than he was to many of the players he was working for. And don't miss a TSN reporter's role in this towards the end of the story.

Note: I'm tossing this one out there because this could have an impact on whether the NHL faces another lockout in less than two years. The contract runs through 2011, but the players have the option to re-open it at the end of next season. If they feel Saskin was in bed with the league, they may react by hiring a hard-*** director who will push the NHL to the wall next time. This news item could be the first building block in the next lockout. And it could come sooner than many fans think.

Alan Eagleson was very good friends with both Clarence Campbell and John Ziegler and used information supplied by both men to quell quarrels within the union in the past (Serge Savard and Bobby Clarke had open feuds about the union in 1976 and Clarence Campbell provided this information to Eagleson as eagleson didn't know it and in the late 1980s Ziegler provided Eagleson with information about an attempt to overthrow Eagleson led by a group of players unhappy with the CBA).
