It's an exothermic reaction so both will release heat and overall will release the same amount of energy but the difference is caused by the fact that one is solid and one is in solution.

HCl +NaOH---> NaCl +H2O
This reaction is called exothermin since it realises heat. It is so since the reactant are two strong electrolytes.
