Out of the two of us, I am the stronger one emotionally. If I were to die first I think my husband would become so depressed (both of us have to take meds daily for depression) that he would end up dying sooner than he should from a broken heart. He would just give up on alot of things and I think, withdraw from everything and everyone.
So given that I think that it would be better if he died first. I would hate it and would miss him terribly.....I'd probably end up walking around the house and talking to him like he was still there, but I would survive. I'm tougher than he is emotionally. I have my hobbies, my son and friends and I'd get by until the day that we could be together again.

Whew, that is a hard one..Never thought of it..but being that I am 38 and married to a 22 yr old..I will probably go first...but you never know these things..I cant answer this question honestly cuz I dont even like to think about it!!! Good question though.

That is very kind and selfless of you. I would hope that my love and I would die at the same time, maybe in an accident or something, quick and relatively painless so that neither of us have to live without the other. But, like you, if one has to go first I hope it would be him so he doesn't have to suffer without me.

Yes, but for her sake I will try my best to live longer. I can't imagine how bad that would feel having your husband or wife of so many years die, and leave you to die alone.

no thats not bad of u *thinks* but i think if my husband died first i wouldnt have time to be lonely for him cuz i would follow after him faster than juliet followed romeo *blushes* i find that so romantic

Hun its going to hurt either way you go on this one. When your the one dying it hurts to see the the ones you love sad for you.
When you truly love someone your always more concerned for them...even when your the one dying.
