The dying patient scam is just a variation of the standard 419 Advance Fee Fraud Scam.

This is how it works :-

You will offer to help the dying scammer and she will put you in touch with another scammer calling himself The Barrister.

"The Barrister" will ask you for some fees before the funds can be released (normally by Western Union). If you do pay the fees The Barrister will come up with even more reasons to relieve you of more money.

Any money you pay (and the funds) will all disappear into the mist,

There is no money or dying woman ...just a scammer in an Internet Cafe somewhere

Now who on this Earth is going to give a third of her worldly possessions to a total stramger to look after? Of course it's a scam. You contact the "attorney", who asks for your bank details, and hey presto! Your account(s) are suddenly emptied.
