Actually, we are looking for wins against many an odds. I shall come to the point straight:
1. We have lilliputs who inspite of their being exceptionally skilled, can't match the gallop of the men standing tall with an easy reach upto 10 feet. The height is a definite handicap to us, so crucial while bowling , batting or fielding.
2. BCCI or ICCI should itself constitute cricketers of yesteryears and politicians of any hue should be ousted from their very precincts through legislation as an act of parliament.
3. Two brand new teams of some hundred 18 years old with a cut off height of 6 feet should be constituted from amongst Lama, Bhutia, Dorji, Kashmiri, ladakhi on one hand and a similar team from the rest of the country, on the other.15 youngmen from each should then be selected to fight amongst themselves to churn out the cream of India.
4. With the thousands of Crores in the kitty, they should be able to breath cricket, wear cricket and sleep cricket.
5. Nothing whatsoever out of all electronic playback spoofs, gadgetry and whatever it takes should be made denied to the teams.
6. An incubator for 10 to 18 years should be created as well, to catch the talent in their prime (keeping in mind the frame of the genome their parents possess).

Complacency after winning the previous cup (personally, i suspect even that match might have been fixed, because: a) India could ill afford to lose to pakis and that too in world cup. b) the moolah must gotten rolling real slow with all the ad-men turning away from cricket.)

Does cricket need so much attention?

the cause is quite simple.. though our team has few much better individual players than australia has ever seen but as a team we r nowhere near in comparison to australians..

they never take pressure.. they ve slighly better feilding n much better (totally uncompareble) bowling attack than our team..
though we r slightly better than them in batting ,tat alone cant help us all the time

i would like to add few more points here:-

india loosing from australia is not a big deal usually (check out the records if u dont agree wid me)..

but y this question came here cuz we r all expecting a lot from team india after the T20 matches we saw..

here we need to digest one simple fact which we all know but we r not ready to accept it :-
--defeating australia in T-20 was tough
-- defeating them in ODI is tougher
--it will be toughest in test cricket

the longer the version of game the better r chances of a more organised n better team to win ((cuz they ve a proofessional approach to the game.. i rarely saw any australian player under pressure.. not even in worst situ they would ve ever faced))

but for our team--- pressure follows them like a ghost.. i can give u some examples:-

1) pressure on whole team --cuz of increased expectations after T-20 win.

2)pressure on Dravid--cuz he left captaincy n the new captain won T-20 world cup in his first series as captian..

3)pressure on sachin-- critisism from media n cricket experts (only indian expers mind it)
some people say his form is bad. i think they need to go n check the records( sachin has an average of more than 50 in last 15 matches wid his strikerate more than 65 (expectations make it a bad strike rate otherwise its not) nd in year 2007 sachin has made 1140 runs wid an avg of 40.6

4)pressure cuz they don ve any coach

5)pressure cuz they ve to win last 2 matches to save the series

huh.. all the pressure has come to india alone (though media has played a big role in tat ) n tats obvious cuz very few other countries r ready to give shelter to so much of pressure so wher else would it go

It was a match of one teams who works hard
vs
against team which works hardly

indian team does not get time to practice, players have to take care of bored members , selector, BCCI staff corporate sponsors etc and in the process they have hardly any time to practice and analyse the game

umm..india does not have a consistency to perform..and if there top order fails den da rest team also fails...and there are many reasons...also..australia is da number 1 team and they play damn gud cricket which takes toll of opposition batsmen, bowlers and fielders.

The loss, according to me, was due to tactical mistake of sending out of form Dravid ahead of Uthappa

We rarely play sustained tight cricket. Either in bowling or batting we easily lose control and concentration.
