I Have to write a short story about new york Christmas time for school and i don't know what to write! Help?

I don't know much about new york, the places, the people or even the weather! so if anyone could help i would aprriciate it (:

Look up New York on wikipedia, I'm sure you could find plenty about the city. An idea for the short story would be a person walking the Christmas streets in New York. Describe everything the person would see, the snow, the people. You could make the short story filled with political points like the loss of the Twin Towers and homelessness.

You could also do your own online research by using Google or Yahoo for some background information. If you rely on answers here, some people have a lot of knowledge and others will give you wack answers on purpose because that's what often happens when you ask people to in a sense, do your work for you.

Go to the library and do some research. There are wonderful displays in the windows of the stores in NYC at Christmas. You could write about the windowshoppers.
