Every time I do need to stop, Do I have to use the Engine Cut-Off as a normal procedure to stop my bike? or the correct way to do it is just stop and the turn the Ignition Key to the OFF position instead (without using the Engine Cut-Off button).

I would like to know what is the best way to turn off my bike every time I finish a ride.

Thanks..

It's not necessary to use the engine cut-off switch on your handle bar controls, but it doesn't hurt to do it that way, and if you get in the habit of using that switch, it may help you remember the best way to shut things down in a hurry in case of an emergency.

Thats an Argument thats been going on for some time ,Some say its only to be used in Emergency situations ,others say use it any time , I have been getting into the habit of using the key to shut off but never had a problem with my switch in all the years of turning bike off that way . Plus dont you have to click it off for lights to go out , Shadow Aero is a nice Bike /

You can use either one to shut off your engine.
Here's a couple of things to take into consideration that might be the deciding factor.
When using the engine kill switch to turn of the engine, there's a good chance you'll forget to turn it back to run.
Then on the next start up, you forget it's in the off position and drain your battery trying to figure why your bike won't start.
When using the kill switch to turn off the engine, your using the switch more often then usual and it will ware out faster (causing you to replace it sooner from getting worn out, or having it not work in an emergency condition).
You'll always be turning the key to off when you park your bike, so it's not getting excessive ware.

I always use the key. This is due to leaving the key on and in the bike, by using the key, your battery will not run down because you forgot it after turning off your bike by the kill switch. other than that, there is not a problem with shutting off your bike with either one, but the key will hold up longer then the kill switch.

Use your shut-off for emergencies only or when it's being parked in a garage. Otherwise use your key. It's only too easy to forget the key and not only drain your battery but you will also walk away from your bike leaving your key in the ignition and someone could steal it. I wear a lanyard around my neck so I always remember my key and never misplace it in my many pockets.

it is a good practise to use both when parking after a ride because if you get in to the habit , forget ting your key on or in the bike will not be a factor because it will be a second nature of checking those things

Save the kill switch for emergencies. Use the sidestand switch and key.
