I prefer my movies to challenge my imagination. Imagining what is happening to the poor hapless blond co-ed is much more frightening than watching her spurt fake blood out of an obviously poorly made prosthetic anytime.

Or, in case you have a relatives although, that's a reliable relatives day trip and can provide the excuse to flee the residing house and function day with the relatives. i might say that a minority of folk go there to rather speculate the planes intimately and sweetness at them. additionally, I stay close to the seashore so on each occasion the air practice hits city here that's an excuse for each individual go down the coastline and, hopefully, take exhilaration in the solar.

You will find certain genres are more popular than others -- and I am referring to US releases -- based on current events in the nation. Namely, political thrillers i.e. "State of the Union," The Kingdom," "Shooter," etc. Where this comes into play with the horror genre is to de-sensitize consumers towards the really scary stuff that occurs in the news media, such as the war in Iraq. The movie, although not a horror flick, "Idiocracy" was very poigniant in pointing out the 'dummy-ing of America'.

It's just like everything else in the country...we go through phases with everything. (Remember when there were only a few "reality" show on TV? Now they're everywhere.) Plus, as I'm sure you're aware, there's a huge shortage of good, unique ideas for movies in Hollywood. So, when they all see a certain type of movie have success, they're quick to jump on the bandwagon until they've saturated the market and desensitized an entire generation.

I do like the Saw movies, mostly because they're psychological thrillers. As for the others, I do not like them at all. A friend of mine told me she's fascinated by how real they can make it. Personally, I can watch surgeries on TV all day, but you throw a movie on like Touristas and I can't stick around to watch it. Makes a lot of sense, right? I think the main reason people do watch it is the fascination that people have such a capacity for evil in all forms. It's not surprising.

Movie genres make their rounds. Years ago when the first Halloween movie came out, everyone jumped on the bandwagon to produce their own slasher movie. Then biopics were the rage (think Gandhi, Coal Miner's Daughter, etc.), then came your romantic comedies (You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, etc.) It's just their turn again in the movie mill. (Remember when Big, Like Father Like Son, and those kinds of movies were the rage?) It proves the old adage, "What comes around, goes around".

What do mean "lately"? There have been slash and gore movies since the 70s, and a lot of them.

I have no idea, they probably do it to get a good scare. Although, I cant imagine why someone would want to see Saw IV, the things Jigsaw do are so demented, but nonetheless, very creative.

Everybody has different tastes. Just because you dont like them doesnt mean the rest of the world cant. I dont like chick-flicks but I dont hold a grudge just because other people do.
